I trust everyone had a wonderful day yesterday.
Mine began with the exchanging of gifts. I think it is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world, to see loved ones' happiness at both receiving and giving. My favourite present this year was from my parents, who gave me a mini Miss Sicily bag by Dolce & Gabbana (you guys all know how much I've been coveting their collection this year). I already want to wear this bag everywhere but you know when something's so precious to you that you're afraid of ruining it? I have that feeling so so much. On another note, my best friend made me the most awesome Christmas card ever (she emailed it to me since we are on different sides of the world now), it made me smile, then laugh, then get all teary because I really miss her. The whole family then gathered for a Christmas banquet at the Montagu restaurant for lunch, which not only consisted of free champagne but champagne flavoured sorbet between each course to 'cleanse the palate'. Needless to say I was feeling a little light-headed by the end of it. In a very merry way of course!
What was your favourite part of your Christmas day?
Topshop coat and jeans / ASOS beanie and gloves / Office boots / Rebecca Minkoff bag
I'm not usually a jeans person as I find it hard to find a pair that fit well and that don't require me to keep pulling them up during long periods of walking. I must admit that these jeans however, are perfect for a cold winter day like this, when I'm not in the mood to wear a dress and need something more substantial than woolen tights to run around in. It's been raining almost non-stop these past few days and my outfits are usually all wet and muddy by the end of the day!
Topshop dress (so old) / Miss Selfridge coat / vintage Prada bag / Topshop beanie / Office boots
Today I just went to see The Hobbit and had a walk around Oxford St, so here's a quick snap of my outfit before I headed out the door. I've been living in this knitted dress I got from Topshop a few years ago now, it's so comfortable and unrestricting plus its majorly warm! I was left a little disappointed after the movie actually, most of the scenes looked so unnatural and full of CGI, I'm not sure why this was the case since the past LOTR movies did not seem this way at all. Also, Thranduil was only in it for like ten seconds (ok so I realize the elves will probably be featured more in the next two films but come on I can't wait that long, give me something to live on, Peter Jackson). I thought Martin Freeman did such a great job at playing Bilbo though, I was pleasantly surprised.
Have you seen The Hobbit? What did you think of it?
On Saturday morning I headed off to Hyde Park for the 2012 Festive Youtube Gathering.
The event was not only a great way to meet everyone's favourite English youtubers, it brought together like-minded viewers to spend a lovely day chatting, making friends, and hanging out. I was quite entertained by the amount of people that had come in costumes (and a particular guy with a ukulele busting out an acoustic version of Gangnam Style), it's great to see young people being so creative and having fun. The amount of people walking through Hyde Park that stopped to see what all the commotion was about and proceeded to join in, was lovely to see.
Miss Patina tapestry coat / Mimco beanie / Office boots / Celine bag
Even though this is just about the prettiest coat I have ever laid my eyes upon, it's a little thin and I haven't been able to wear it out for long periods of time. However, with the promise of sunshine and a warmer weekend, I have finally pulled it out of my luggage... and I have a feeling it won't be going back in there anytime soon.
