MANGO dress / Jeffrey Campbell Zomg sneakers / Kate Spade bag / ASOS sunglasses / Kate Spade earrings / Marc by Marc Jacobs watch

The female population is pretty much split into those who adore flatforms and those who detest them. Personally I think they're a lifesaver because I can't handle walking in heels for an entire day, but would still like to get in a little extra height where possible. This pair by Jeffrey Campbell is perfect for a casual day walking around the malls of Singapore.

Minkpink dress / Zara flats / Celine bag / Marc by Marc Jacobs watch / YSL ring / old studded belt / ASOS sunglasses

This dress was one of my favourite purchases from last year, the material is so soft and the print so lovely, if I could get away with wearing it every single day I would.

the stories that stay with you

Black Milk Clothing have just released, in my opinion, their best collection to date. Being a massive Lord of the Rings fan, and Black Milk being known for producing the most beautiful printed pieces, I have been waiting for the day these two would come together to make the ultimate printed nylon goodness. If you've never heard of Black Milk, you've probably seen their galaxy print leggings all over the blogosphere. They're an Australian company that designs mainly leggings, swimsuits, and bodycon skirts and dresses (but they are starting branch out with tops, jackets etc.)  Each item bears an amazing digital print ranging from Picasso to Star Wars so I guarantee there will be a piece to tickle everyone's fancy.
Check out their Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit inspired collection here

Which one is your favourite?
I'm having such a hard time deciding!

W Magazine Best Performances 2013

1. Marion Cotillard in Rust and Bone / 2. Ben Whishaw in Cloud Atlas / 3. Jessica Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty / 4. Rachel Weisz in The Deep Blue Sea / 5. Garrett Hedlund in On The Road / 6. Keira Knightley in Anna Karenina

All photographed by Juergen Teller

So I think W Magazine do these spreads each year, but these photographs are my favourite so far. I love the simple, raw, stripped back feel to them. The full list of actors and photos are here
I've not seen many of the films these performances were chosen from, but being a bit of a movie buff I really want to. If only my life granted me enough time and money *sigh*.

Have you seen any of the films mentioned? Which actor gave your favourite performance?

what is any ocean, but a multitude of drops?

Miss Patina dress / ASOS flats / old sunglasses / vintage Prada bag / Love Never Dies charm bracelet / Tiffany & Co earrings

It's suddenly summertime! If you're confused it's because I'm no longer in good old London town, I'm in sweltering Singapore. I went to see Cloud Atlas today (in IMAX too whoot). I'd been looking forward to this film for quite some time, the book it's based on was riveting, the trailer looked epic, and Ben Whishaw is in it. At first it confused me a bit even though I'd already read the book, the chronology in the film is a little different and the way they cut the scenes shook me a little. But once you get used to the time frames, it is one hell of a ride. I highly recommend it!

get me out of the sun

Topshop coat / ASOS beanie / Celine bag / Agyness Deyn x Doc Marten creepers

This will be my last winter outfit post in a while as I am currently in Singapore. It's constantly hot and humid here so I will be living in summer dresses, though as much as I love dresses I prefer winter fashion as I feel you can be a lot more creative with accessorising and layering your outfits. These Docs were perfect for the rain and slippery surfaces in London so I definitely overwore them (though I already cannot wait to be able to wear them again). I just realised this is yet another burgundy/khaki themed outfit, I can't seem to get enough of these two colours! Don't worry summer will definitely put a stop to this.

faux fur

Topshop coat and beanie / J.W Anderson for Topshop jumper / American Apparel skirt / Celine bag / Office boots / Mimco chain

I wish I was still in London but alas these photos were taken last week. I absolutely adore the look of faux fur coats in winter but have always found them hard to style for my body shape. I think I can get away with wearing them unbuttoned though so I will gladly brave the chill to rock this colour block beauty in my favourite winter colours.

tumblr mixed inspirations

I really love Tumblr, it's a constant, never-ending source of inspiration.
If you have one and like these types of posts, you can follow mine here. Alternatively, link yours below in the comments, I'd love to have a look.
I've just landed in Singapore and even though I am quite jet-lagged, I can't seem to get to sleep!

Miss Patina coat / Dolce & Gabbana bag / Topshop boots

I was told that I looked like a granny today but that's ok, I personally think.

lost in my bedroom

UNIF cardigan / Pulp Kitchen shirt / Topshop skirt (from the sales) / Agyness Deyn x Doc Marten creepers / ASOS slouchy beanie

I'm feeling a lot better now! Although I still haven't been out much because it's really awkward when I have a coughing fit in the middle of the street and people steer clear of me haha. No matter, I have been busy packing the clothes that I brought here, to put into storage for a while as I'm going to Singapore in a few days to sort out some boring but important admin stuff. Ughhh not looking forward to the heat and humidity again... I am definitely a winter girl.

This song has been on repeat while I pack, so good!

happy 2013!

H&M coat / Zara sweater / American Apparel skirt / ASOS hat / Alexander Wang bag / Office boots

Happy New Year! Hope you all had an unforgettable NYE! Unfortunately my plan to watch the fireworks was majorly disrupted by an untimely lung infection I caught just yesterday. It's a minor one but I have been unable to leave my bed and stop coughing profusely. The doctor has given me some antibiotics though so hopefully I'll be back on my feet soon! Meanwhile I have a few blog posts lined up that should keep my blog active while I recover so please bare with me.

I got this coat in the sales, it was 75% off which I thought was way too good to pass up (and I love anything burgundy or furry haha). I'm also taking advantage of the less windier days to swap my usual beanies with hats. These photos were taken a few days ago on Portobello road, where I spent the morning walking through the markets there. They had stalls upon stalls filled with the most gorgeous looking vintage books (including one of the first published editions of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland can you imagine?). Unfortunately the owner got quite cranky when he discovered I was trying to take photos of them. Oops.
