Bernadette

Minkpink jumper / American Apparel velvet skirt / Mulberry bag / Topshop shoes

I've been really into wearing my hair curly lately, the weather here does a great job at maintaining the style without too much hairspray. Then the next morning I can wake up with loose waves and my hair is sorted for another day. I'm also mastering my curling iron so it pretty much takes the same amount of time as straightening my hair usually does. Sometimes I wish that I had naturally straight or curly hair but I just have something in between that's prone to frizz and kinks. Ah well.

How do you prefer to wear your hair?

White Pepper

The WhitePepper crop / Topshop skirt / Zara flats / Prada bag / Zara necklace / Regal Rose rings / Alice in Wonderland by Tom Binns bangle

Surprise, more florals! Starting this blog and documenting my outfits has finally made me realise how much of a floral print hoarder I am... I can't help it though they just come in the prettiest colours and patterns (Cath Kidston anyone?)

Eyes of Mars

Coco Fennell dress / Modcloth lace brogues

There's little I like more than a simple tea dress with an interesting statement collar.

I have an extremely busy two weeks ahead just before uni starts up so I'm still trying to adjust my blogging schedule around that, please bear with me if posts aren't as plentiful or as detailed.

New in - Zara shoes

Usually when I go into Zara I make a beeline for the sales racks but this time these babies caught my eye on the way there and I just couldn't resist getting them full price. They remind me of the Vivienne Westwood 3 strap flats that were often spotted on Alexa Chung a few years ago and also the shoes Fanny Brawne wears in the film Bright Star. Not sure how comfortable the pointed toe will be for long periods of walking but I'm willing to make the sacrifice as I absolutely love the look of them.

M'aidez

Topshop dress / Marc by Marc Jacobs flats / Rebecca Minkoff bag / YSL ring

Although this dress looks like two separate pieces, I love how easy it is to throw on when I can't think of anything to wear, which unfortunately seems to happen to me way too often.

Music of the moment #2

A song with a thought-provoking message, super catchy melody, and a beautiful instrumental build up that I love Placebo for.

Don't let the sun in your heart decay

UNIF suspender skirt / Muse tee / Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane boot / Topshop & Regal Rose necklaces / Ray-ban sunglasses

I've always really liked the look of suspenders but suffered the problem of the straps slipping off my shoulders every time I moved around. I'm not sure if it's because I have a rather short torso or round shoulders or a combination of the two but no matter as I have found the solution in elasticated straps, hooray! Also realised how fried my hair looks in that close-up but I swear it's just the humidity accentuating my already frizzy mane (or so I like to say, can't bring myself to cut it shorter).

Yull S/S 2014 collection launch

This past Saturday I was invited to take a look at Yull's new collection of shoes in London. If you're unfamiliar with the brand as I was before, it is the creation of designer Sarah Watkinson-Yull, who describes the label as 'style over fashion'. The shoes in the new collection mainly consisted of classic pumps, catered to every girls' needs with some in wearable neutrals featuring a contrasting toe cap, and others (my personal favourites) in gorgeous pastels with scalloped detailing. Their lovely flats are aptly named the Cambridge after the Duchess and I do feel like this entire range would be something Kate Middleton would wear. Everything is manufactured in the UK and the quality seems to be very good. Personally as I am more of a boots or edgy flats kind of girl, most of Yull's designs weren't for me (although I wouldn't say no to the Fulham and Chelsea boots), however I can definitely see many people loving these shoes. You can take a further look at their website here.

Music of the moment #1

I've decided I'm going to start doing these quick posts more regularly just to share with you guys what I've currently been listening to as music is a pretty big part of my life and it just makes sense to feature it more on my blog.

Recently I have been enjoying Franz Ferdinand's latest single Love Illumination, as well as rediscovering some of their older songs on my iPod. They are one of my favourite bands and although I kind of forgot about them during the 4 year silence after their last album I'm trés excited for their new one (finally!) which is coming out at the end of this month. I really like the video clip for this song too, super trippy and awesome.

What's a song you've been replaying? I love getting recommendations for new music.

Hamsa

Minkpink dress / Zara boots / House of Harlow sunglasses / J.Crew link bracelet / Mum's LV & Chanel bangles

I'm one of those girls whose shoe collection primarily consists of an assortment of boots and will wear them all year long regardless of the weather. These ones from Zara fed my need for the Chloe Susannas and is made of such a soft and supple leather that I have to constantly fight the urge to rub them against my face, which is a winning combination in my opinion.
