all the time is all that's necessary

Lowry's farm top / Topshop skirt / Prada bag / Miu Miu flats

I'm going back to London next week yay! Right now I'm focusing on not overpacking but I guess we'll see how that goes. I have one last doctor's appointment before I leave and if all goes well then I'll be able to settle in London and stop with the schizophrenic weather outfit posts haha. I find it a little awkward going from winter to summer outfits or vice versa without a transitioning season in between (ahh the downsides of sporadic travelling), it's almost like I temporarily forget how to style a suitable outfit and it takes me an extra hour to get ready. As you all know I much prefer winter fashion so I'm looking forward to getting back into layering mode.

Jennifer Lawrence for Dior Spring 2013

Jennifer Lawrence has quickly become Hollywood's most powerful actress and it was inevitable that Dior snapped her up to become the face of their Spring line. The fashion powerhouse who previously recruited fellow Oscar winners Natalie Portman and Marion Cotillard, has unveiled these stunning pictures from their spring/summer 2013 ads, all photographed by Willy Vanderperre.
Ever since they signed her up last October, Jennifer has also been wearing Dior gowns for most of her red carpet appearances.

What do you think of the new Miss Dior?

Art - Patrick Jacobs

“Jacobs’s dioramas provide peeks into a world in which reality is presented in such exquisite detail it begins to look surreal.
The artist draws from art history and garden pest control brochures alike to create miniature 3D works of art, viewed through a circular glass lens. Viewers get the impression that they are looking into another realm, simultaneously natural and constructed, familiar and unknown. In a way, we get a taste for a fish’s life from inside the bowl.”

MS MR - Bones

I've just discovered this song thanks to the new Game of Thrones season 3 trailer.
I thought I'd share it with you guys because I can't stop listening to it and I had never heard of this band prior to yesterday. I'm looking forward to checking out more of their songs now!

And of course here is the amazing trailer if you haven't seen it yet.

Meeting Troian Bellisario

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Troian Bellisario, best known for playing Spencer Hastings on the hit tv show Pretty Little Liars. She's in Singapore for a few days while her boyfriend, fellow actor Patrick Adams, promotes the new season of Suits. Troian looked absolutely stunning in a cream cocktail dress with a turquoise sash around her waist, black pumps and her hair in loose waves. My outfit was pretty shabby in comparison but she said she loved my dress. She was so down to earth and lovely, it was nice to be able to have a little chat with her.

Lime Crime Snowsicle

I picked up one of Lime Crime's Carousel glosses recently, in the shade Snowsicle. Their make up line is known for its vibrant array of shades that also deliver strong opacity and pigmentation, but this particular gloss caught my eye as it's advertised to be clear with rainbow glitter particles in it. The product looks absolutely gorgeous and icy blue in it's tube (really pretty packaging too). On bare lips however it is quite transparent even with a couple of applications. The glitter is lovely but not as noticeable as shown on Lime Crime's website photo, you could of course pack it on to make it more sparkly but after two layers I found it started to get goopy. It wears nicely throughout the day and is comfortable on the lips, being quite moisturising but not too sticky. I've heard some reviews saying that you can feel the gritty texture from the glitter on the lips but this was not the case for me. I think it would make a very nice every day gloss or layered on top of a coloured lipstick for some extra wow factor.

Have you tried anything from Lime Crime?

pray for paris

Pray for Paris shirt / American Apparel skirt / Jeffrey Campbell flats / Urban Outfitters headband / ASOS sunglasses

This week hasn't gone so smoothly for me. The day I wore this outfit ended with me in the emergency room and a doctor telling me I should pray for myself and not for Paris. I was having heart palpitations and my blood pressure was so low that I kept blacking out. As soon as they stabilised me, the doctor established that I'd had a severe allergic reaction to a certain ingredient in my dinner. The problem is of course there were many ingredients in that meal so I've spent these past few days being tested for all kinds of food allergies. They've also given me one of those epi-pens that I can inject myself just in case something like this happens again (knock on wood).
Anyway I've been quite exhausted and stressed out but I'm trying to stay positive.
Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Rooney Mara in Berlin

1 & 2. In Balenciaga at the Side Effects Berlin photocall / 3, 4 & 5. In Valentino (and I think that coat is Miu Miu) at the Berlinale fim festival

I was drawn to Rooney Mara's red carpet style as soon as she debuted her post-Lisbeth black hair and fringe at the world premiere of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a year ago. I was actually there in attendance so I will forever remember the moment she stepped out in that breath-taking, backless ivory Givenchy gown. Soon after she continued her winning streak in back to back elegant yet edgy, mainly monochrome outfits, topped off with slick hairstyles and minimal accessories as she promoted the film around the world. Her trademark style continues to wow as she returns to the spotlight for her upcoming film Side Effects.

What do you think of these outfits?

Chaos: Game of Thrones Season 3 Preview

If you don't already know, Game of Thrones is my favourite tv show ever. I'm especially excited for this season because I really enjoyed the book it's based on (A Storm of Swords). It was full of twists and defining moments that I feel really laid the foundation to the increasingly explosive storyline that unfolds afterwards. Basically it was not until I got to this book that I was seriously hooked. Most people are perplexed when they learn that my most loved characters from the series are Sansa and Jaime as it seems like such an unpopular opinion at this point of the show. That's just what I love about this story though, the characters are so complex and undergo such developments throughout their journey, it's always interesting to see who people identify with most.

Are you a Game of Thrones fan? Who's your favourite character?

BAFTAs 2013

1. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior / 2. Gemma Arterton in Celia Kritharioti / 3. Ben Whishaw / 4. Marion Cotillard braving the rain in Dior / 5. Jennifer Lawrence & Michael Fassbender / 6. Eddie Redmayne / 7. Jessica Chastain welcoming the rain in Roland Mouret

I always look forward to the BAFTAs each year because it has more of my favourite British actors in attendance than other award ceremonies. Plus other amazing, talented people rubbing shoulders and wearing gorgeous gowns in my favourite city, how could it get much better than that?
These are some of my favourite photos from last night. Unfortunately I didn't think any of the dresses were that memorable, although if I had to pick a favourite, it would have to be Gemma Arterton's. Poor Eddie Redmayne got food poisoning halfway through the show and was unable to present an award as he was throwing up backstage. So they replaced him with my favourite awkwardly adorable Ben Whishaw, which was perfectly fine by me (do hope Eddie gets well soon though)!

Who do you think was best dressed at the BAFTAs?

Gong Xi Fa Cai to all who celebrate! Hope the new year brings you plenty of positivity, happiness, and success, and that you had a wonderful day with your loved ones.

Minkpink dress / Rebecca Minkoff bag / Jeffrey Campbell flats / House of Harlow sunglasses & earrings

Apologies that I always seem to be wearing sunnies in my Singapore outfit posts, it's just that I'm not used to the glaring sun here and I can't seem to look at the camera without squinting otherwise. Also my wisdom teeth recovery has been going well, I am already out and about though it still looks like I've been punched several times in the face (bruised purple cheeks all the way).

I just got four wisdom teeth extracted so I'm currently in bed with an extremely swollen and bruised face, sipping chicken broth and downing painkillers. Hope I can recover quickly so normal life can resume.
In the meantime, here are a few things I picked up in the past month.
