Infinite love without fulfilment

A particular clothing store that I really miss here is Dangerfield. It was my favourite place to shop in Australia and luckily they have an online store that ships internationally. They have the perfect mixture of vintage inspired, sometimes slightly quirky and grungy pieces that I feel perfectly embodies my style so definitely check them out if you might be interested.

Another walk about, after dark

H&M beanie / The Orphan's Arms sweater / Motel jeans / Converse sneakers / Proenza Schouler bag

Ok so I don't know if you guys have noticed but I hardly ever wear pants. This is because I find them to be a bit of a nuisance as I have to keep pulling them up throughout the day, I'm not sure if it's because I have a weird body shape or if I just haven't found a pair suited to me yet. Despite this unfortunate conundrum I still appreciate the convenience and versatility of a good pair of jeans, my favourite high waisted skirts are sometimes just not an option on days where the wind threatens to lift my feet off the pavement. The 'Jordan' jeans by Motel are some of my absolute favourites, they are super stretchy yet substantially thick and come in a huge array or prints and colours.

Florabotanica

Florabotanica by Balenciaga is the latest addition to my perfume collection. As the name suggests, it has an extremely floral scent. On first spray I thought it smelled primarily of jasmine but this just reinforces how much I know my fragrances because there is actually no trace of it anywhere in this perfume. Florabotanica has top notes of mint and carnation, heart notes of hybrid rose and caladium leaves, and base notes of amber and vetiver. For me this floral fragrance strikes the perfect balance between fresh and musky, so I find it works well for both day and night. It's also not overly sweet which I tend to prefer nowadays. I definitely recommend giving it a sniff next time you pass by a perfume counter, it's an absolutely lovely fragrance.

Which perfume are you loving at the moment?

Our little world is only big enough for us

Lowrys Farm top / American Apparel skirt / Agyness Deyn x Doc Marten creepers / Celine bag

I found this top at a Japanese clothing store in Singapore and the combination of stripes and a peter pan collar automatically makes it one of my favourite items in my wardrobe, I feel like I can pair it with absolutely anything. I'm currently spending the holidays with two of my closest friends from Australia, we've been lounging around at home watching movies and drinking pina colada iced tea from champagne glasses.

Atlantis to interzone

Dangerfield floral blouse / American Apparel woven skirt / Office boots / Celine bag

I am just about to board a plane back to Perth for the break so here is a quick post on an outfit I wore last week. I haven't gone back to Australia in over seven months so I'm really looking forward to seeing my friends and family over there.

Have you got any plans for the holidays?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Trailer

The first international trailer for the second instalment of The Hobbit is out! The film will see Bilbo, Gandalf, and the dwarves continue their journey to the Lonely Mountain to reclaim their gold from Smaug the dragon. A host of awesome new characters are set to join the adventure, along with the return of Orlando Bloom as Legolas, and Benedict Cumberbatch voicing Smaug.
The film is scheduled for release on December 13, 2013.

Are you guys as excited as I am?

Prada Menswear A/W 2013

Ben Whishaw for Prada Autumn/Winter 2013
Photographed by David Simms

I don't know much about menswear but I certainly do know how much I love Ben Whishaw and Prada so this new campaign is definitely a welcome sight. The shoot also features fellow actors Christopher Waltz and Ezra Miller.

What do you think of designers using actors in preference of models?

Paisley

Zara jacket / Topshop embellished jumper / ASOS paisley midi skirt / Jeffrey Campbell Everly boots / Alexander Wang bag / Marc by Marc Jacobs zipper earrings

I totally forgot to take a close up of my zipper earrings (slap on the wrist for being a bad blogger I know, I've included links to the actual product pictures though). Anyway I'm actually allergic to most metals that aren't silver or gold plated so I find that I'm faced with a very limited range of earrings that I can wear. A lot of gold and silver earrings are also usually dripping with gemstones and out of my price range so when I come across a suitable pair that I like, I'll wear them to death. I'm wearing my hair up more often now that it's getting warmer too but I am such noob when it comes to hairstyles, I need to experiment more and learn to do something other than my usual bun.

Everything and nothing always haunts me

So I think I officially own this velvet skirt in all the colours available now... and I wear one almost every day, I'm obsessed. These cut out boots are the newest addition to my shoe collection, I wanted some white boots and these ones from Jeffrey Campbell are the comfiest ever! You know how sometimes the buckles and straps on these types of boots can rub and cut your feet after a while, none of that here.

On another note, I hope all my fellow Game of Thrones viewers have recovered from this week's shocking episode!

Peter & Alice

Dangerfield coat / Zara top / River Island jeans / Topshop boots / Proenza Schouler bag

I went to see the play Peter & Alice again before it closed. It was just as wonderful and I felt like I took much more meaning out of it the second time around. I wore this Zara pleather top that I found in their sale, I like that the arms and back are a knit material, makes it much more convenient to move around in. Rather unsurprisingly it was an overcast day so I matched my lips to my jeans and threw on this coat that I brought over with me from Australia.

I'm sad that this play has come to an end, but I did hear that they recorded it one of the nights so hopefully it'll be released to the public in the near future. It's definitely a story that everyone should experience at least once in their life. Of course I had to get another photo with the incredible (and now a BAFTA winner!) Ben Whishaw, can't wait to see more of his upcoming work this year.
