Coco Fennell dress / ASOS collar chain (similar here) / Jump From Paper bag* / Topshop brogues (similar here)

How adorable is this 2D looking cartoon style bag? It actually has a little hidden zip around the bottom so you can expand it out and fit more things in, super handy. Jump From Paper's latest collection is full of super cute, retro style cartoon bags, I pretty much want all of them (check it all out here).
I paired mine with one of my favourite tea dresses from Coco Fennell and my old black and white brogues that I wore all the time when I lived in Australia and is still in great condition, love them.

Wednesday night is the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards and I'm really excited to be going and that my blog has been shortlisted for 'Best New Fashion Blog'. I've never been to anything like this so I'm a little unsure what to wear. The invite says 'dress to impress' though and as I've been super pressed for time, we'll just have to see what I manage to dig up and put together that evening haha.

Hope your week has has started off well!

New in - Birthday boots

Don't know if I'll ever get over my obsession with buckled boots but after a good two years of buying several lookalikes and wearing them all to the ground, my lovely parents got me the Chloe Susannas for my birthday. They are the black leather ones with gold hardware and I'm absolutely besotted by them. I've worn them a couple of times already on days when it hasn't been raining and they're decently comfortable but could do with a little more breaking in I think. These will definitely be my staple black boots for the upcoming autumn and winter season.

You're not the one

Franz Ferdinand tee / River Island skirt / Flossy shoes*/ Topshop hat (similar here) and bracelet / Celine bag

I got this tee at the Franz Ferdinand gig last month, can't believe it's been nearly 10 years since their first album changed my life, it kinda makes me feel emotional (and a little bit old). The lovely ladies at Canoe Inc. were kind enough to send me these Flossy plimsolls and oh my gosh they are so soft and easy to wear, they basically mould to my feet. I've been wearing them a ton to uni and I really like the colour and pattern for autumn too.

Music of the moment #3

I first found out about this band when I saw the lead singer Olly Alexander (who also happens to be a very talented actor) portray Peter Pan in the West End play Peter & Alice alongside Ben Whishaw and Judi Dench. You may also recognise him from the more recent final season of Skins. Anyway I am absolutely in love with their latest offering, a delightful song that has been keeping me company throughout long and dreary days of study.

Topshop top / New Look skirt / Karen Walker sunglasses / Mulberry bag / Zara flats

I really regret not snapping up a pair of these Zara flats in black too because they're so comfy (don't I always say that), I wear them with everything regardless whether they match or not. I'm not a heels kind of girl, especially when I spend most of my time running (late) around London's uneven cobblestone pathways. This was an outfit I wore earlier last week before it started getting so damn cold here.

More currently, it was my 21st birthday yesterday and my parents surprised me with an awesome pair of boots that I will probably feature in my next blog post. Apart from that I didn't really do much besides have a quick family dinner as I was at uni the whole day and then had to cram an assignment that night. Next week after I hand everything in, I'm looking forward to celebrating and relaxing.

New in - Puppy

So here's a little bit of a different 'new in' post haha. I previously mentioned that I was getting a puppy so now he's here I thought I'd introduce him to the blog. His name is Fischer, he's 8 weeks old and he's a Yorkshire terrier. He seems to have adjusted to his new home really quickly and has been a breeze to look after. I've been happily snapping away because I can't resist his cuteness and puppies just seem to grow up way too fast.

Have you got a pet?

Chartreuse

Topshop dress / Zara jacket / Topshop Ample boots / UNIF clutch / Karen Walker sunglasses / Primark ring

This is a typical uni look for me: a t-shirt dress and jacket with boots. I wore this exact outfit the other day except instead of this cool semi-transparent clutch, I was lugging around an A3 sketchpad and a ton of drawing equipment. I feel as though the colour chartreuse is a little overdone now but I still love wearing this dress, it just seems to instantly brighten my mood and put a spring in my step.

You're the conversation, I'm the game

Zara sweater / Dangerfield skirt / Converse sneakers / Proenza Schouler bag

This sweater was yet another of my Zara sale plunders and I chose to pair it with a super old skirt that is a bit too big for me now and annoyingly falls to my hips when I walk, but I just loved how the bright pink looked together.

In other news, I'm getting a puppy! I've always been a dog lover so it was really hard for me to leave our two family pets back in Australia. Since I've been a little stressed out recently I thought it would be really helpful to put some positive energy into caring for a dog. It will be a male Yorkshire terrier and he should be coming home with me on Tuesday. I'm super excited, I'm in the process of brainstorming a suitable name for the little one.

Any dream will do

Zara top / Topshop skirt / Zara shoes (sale) / Prada bag (took the handle off to turn it into a clutch)

Here is the full outfit I wore to the screening in my previous post. I've been lamenting the end of the Zara sales but at the same time it's probably a good thing as my hours at uni have been ridiculous lately.

Peaky Blinders Gala Screening

On the 21st of August I attended the premiere of a forthcoming TV series called Peaky Blinders. The first series will have six episodes, described as an 'epic gangster drama' by creator Steven Knight and has been hailed as the new British Boardwalk Empire. It is set in 1920s Birmingham and stars Cillian Murphy in the leading role as Thomas Shelby, the head of a local gang called the Peaky Blinders (named as all members sew razor blades into the peak of their caps). Together they are the town's most powerful criminal organisation but rivals, police, and IRA are fast on their tails.

I found the first episode to be quietly thrilling straight from the opening sequence, with gorgeous cinematography and an upbeat soundtrack boasting tracks from the likes of Nick Cave and Jack White. Strong performances from a stellar ensemble cast to introduce their characters and an episode ending that left me intrigued for the next one. After the screening finished, director Otto Bathurst, writer Steven Knight, and actors Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory took to the stage to further discuss the show and answer some questions.

Overall it was a wonderful night. It was so interesting to hear Cillian (who happens to be my all time favourite actor) elaborate on his thoughts and acting on Peaky Blinders and I definitely cannot wait to see the rest of this show.

Peaky Blinders premieres at 9pm September 12 on BBC2.
