Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2013

Three Floor dress (sold out but similar here) / Zara heels (super similar here) / Mulberry clutch / & Other Stories jewellery

So the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards was last Wednesday night and as I had never been to an event like this, I was a little nervous beforehand with no idea what to expect. Fortunately I met some fellow fashion bloggers at the beginning of the night, Helen from Helen's Wardrobe, Amanda from Honey Pop Kisses, and Ella from HelloEllaxo, who were all so lovely and kind that I quickly forgot my previous predicament. This year the event was held on the second level of the OXO Tower on the South Bank which boasted a gorgeous view onto the Thames river. The spacious venue was filled with a bar, various beauty stalls (lashes, nails, and hair being some of the services they offered), a photobooth, a DJ, and of course plenty of room for all the stylish bloggers that showed up. I had such a wonderful time and although I didn't win on the night, I'm ever so thankful for just being shortlisted over 43 000 entries and given the opportunity to attend and mingle with such talented and creative people. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me, it really does mean a lot to me and I really appreciate it.

On to my outfit. I feel as though the date of the awards just came so quickly and I barely had time to plan a look so I took this cobalt Three Floor dress (which had conveniently been hanging in my wardrobe waiting for the right occasion) and paired it with my well loved rose gold Zara heels and Mulberry clutch both of which I had previously worn to the BAFTAs (see that post here). I've been loving & Other Stories recently and on my last visit to their store I picked up these rose gold themed earrings and rings which I felt tied the whole look together quite nicely. Hair was a different story, I wanted to have it out of the way to show off the lace detail on the shoulders but didn't have enough time (or skill for that matter) to create a polished updo, so instead just went for a side part and a fishtail braid. Looking back I probably should've done something a little more sophisticated but hopefully next time.
