Best of 2013 - My year in review

I can't believe that 2013 has come to an end and with it, my first year of blogging. It's safe to say moving half way across the world to London has proved to be not only an amazing experience but one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. Here is an Instagram collage of some of my favourite moments this year. I've loved familiarising myself with this beautiful city and adjusting to a different lifestyle. It's also been interesting to see how my personal style has developed (I've included some of my favourite outfits this year) London seems to have a way of influencing my dress sense, you all are so fashionable and creative! Meeting fellow bloggers has been a definite highlight, especially ones that I have followed for years since I was in Australia. I couldn't ask for a lovelier bunch of new friends and I'm looking forward to meeting even more bloggers in the new year. Being able to attend fashion and beauty related events has been ever so inspiring (I'm still so stoked every time I receive an invite), it's great to see the creative force behind designers and companies here. I think the most memorable moment for me would have to have been when I found out I was shortlisted for the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards, it felt so surreal.

In other more random events, Starbucks spelt my name right for the first time in my life and I tasted heaven in white chocolate peanut butter cups. The Franz Ferdinand album I'd been waiting years for came out and Sky Ferreira's debut album became my personal pick for best album of 2013. I got my second lobe piercings and now I want more, though I think I'll wait till beanie season is over before I get any more in my ear. A precious little Yorkshire puppy by the name of Fischer came into my life and I have never encountered a more simultaneously cute and annoying living thing before, like I swear his tongue is out more than Miley Cyrus'. Previously being a bit of a film buff and lover of watching some crazy acting, living in London meant that I was able to swap screens for stages as I went to my fair share of theatre shows. Then meeting my favourite actors and being able to express my admiration (hopefully I succeeded without too much fangirling) is pretty unforgettable. I also attended this year's TV BAFTAs, got to walk the red carpet, and to top it all off Ben Whishaw won Best Actor that night. Also entertainment wise, I saw my top three favourite bands live in the space of a few months, I feel lucky that London is always a concert destination.

So it's definitely been an incredible 12 months for me but most of all, I owe it to all of you, my wonderful readers who've made this year so meaningful. Thank you for being interested in my posts and taking the time to leave the loveliest comments. Starting this blog was something I've wanted to do for a long time and it's proved to be something I absolutely love doing. I'm really excited to see where 2014 will take Adventures of an Anglophile and I hope that you'll all join me for the ride.

Wishing you all a fantastic New Year's Eve and I'll see you next year!
