I stumbled upon some of Kyonghwan Kim's beautiful illustrations on Tumblr and immediately had to google and check out more of this artist's work. The illustrator uses paint and photoshop to create rich, vibrant and painstakingly detailed fantasy landscapes, each of which depicts their own special story often involving a female character. There seems to be a slight ominous theme apparent in most of the works but sometimes also juxtaposed with a sense of childhood innocence. Definitely a recipe for my favourite sort of fairytale.
