Last month I attended a party hosted by the lovely ladies behind the website, Frey de Fleur. The main purpose of the event was to discuss and promote how bloggers can use their outreach to raise awareness for charities and other great causes. The editor Freya, was incentivised to introduce this concept of 'fashion conscious blogging' after her brother was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, and she saw how much help charities have given their family. If this is not one of the most inspiring things you have ever heard then I don't know what is, hearing Freya's story and seeing her dedication was absolutely empowering.
The event was held at The Jam Tree in Chelsea, the upper floor transformed into a picturesque and rather cozy area for all the attendees which included bloggers, brands, press, and even the odd local celebrity. There was a silent auction being held to raise money, with some covetable items up for grabs including my personal favourite, a gorgeous leather Dr. Martens satchel. Sweet treats were provided in the form of pastel iced cupcakes and macarons (the latter of which I could not stop eating haha).

It was super lovely to meet Freya and the team, as well as fellow bloggers like Samantha and Aarti. Thank you to the ladies over at Ottoman Hands who were sponsors for the evening and were also kind enough to gift me with a gorgeous necklace. At the end of the night, £600 was raised for The Rainbow Trust, which was an amazing feat. I think we all went home, goody bags in hand, with a new outlook on blogging. I encourage all my readers to to check out Frey de Fleur's campaign on Fashion Conscious Blogging and consider it yourselves, as they said, if we have the power to influence our audience to purchase clothing and make-up we can also steer their attention towards charities and other wonderful causes.
