THE TARTAN SHIFT

ModDolly pinafore (on sale) / Black thermal top / ASOS lace choker / Regal Rose necklace / Primark monk shoes / Celine bag / Armin keychain from Comic Con

You won't usually find me wearing a shift dress as I often prefer dresses that accentuate my waist rather than disguise it but there was something about this pinafore that appealed to me. Perhaps it was the gorgeous autumnal colours or the cute buttoned pocket detail, but I decided to that it would be perfect for a casual look, especially on those days when you're eating out with friends and don't want to worry about having to unfasten your waistband afterwards. I wore this outfit to the MinkPink sleepover event and it was definitely a suitable choice for all the snacking and lounging I did there. I'd also been meaning to invest in a pair of monk shoes after seeing several versions floating around the high street, I was super stoked to find this dark burgundy pair in Primark, complete with silver hardware (I prefer it to gold) and a most reasonable price tag. You might notice a new addition to my very worn Celine Trio, a little Armin keychain that I picked up from Comic Con (who else watches Attack on Titan, he's my favourite character hehe), as you know no outfit of mine is complete without a touch of geekery.

Has there been an item of clothing that you'd never thought you'd wear but ended up loving? x
