2014 IN OUTFITS
I'd never done an outfit round up post of any sort before but I thought, what better way to start than with one looking back on what I wore throughout the year? I've seen a fair few bloggers do this, picking their favourite outfit from each month and have really enjoyed seeing all the posts so I thought I would take a leaf out of their books and do the same. I was originally planning on doing more of a general '2014 in review' post but things got a bit personal and I ended up being too uncomfortable with sharing it. It also wouldn't feel right to leave out the not-so-good bits because it would seem like such a sugar-coated portrayal of my year. I decided a '2014 in outfits' would be more appropriate, this is after all, primarily a fashion blog!
So on to the nitty gritty, it's so much fun to look back on my fashion choices and see how my style has evolved through the months. In January, I wore (surprise) pants! Burgundy and mustard are still one of my all time favourite colour combinations. In February, I had just gotten my hands on this Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop cardigan and paired it with a floral midi skirt. In March, I took advantage of the warmer weather to try this white on white look, with some bright accessories.
In April, most noticeably I chopped my hair off and wore another piece from the Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop collection. In May, I had lightened my locks and had an unforgettable night at the BAFTAs in this sequin striped Alice Temperley gown that was kindly lent to me. In June, I was inspired by the 90s when styling up some of Primark's new pastel offerings.
In July, I channeled some bohemian vibes in this gorgeous Kate Moss x Topshop kimono and in August I dove back into my usual preppy style, complete with oversized collar and saddle shoes. In September I was super excited to attend London Fashion Week for the very first time and this 'eggs and toast' ensemble that I wore on Day 3 ended up being my favourite look of mine.
In October, I was over the moon to be shortlisted in the Cosmo Blog Awards and I decided to wear this vintage dress to the ceremony. In November I was inspired by an unlikely style icon, Paddington Bear. Finally in December, I went out of my comfort zone (by dressing more comfortably haha) and tried a more sporty, casual look.
So those were my favourite outfits of 2014, it was actually super difficult for me to choose just one for each month hehe, I've had so much fun putting together outfits this year.
Which outfit was your favourite? Also let me know your fav outfit that you wore this year and link me to it in the comments so I can see! Hope you're all enjoying the holidays and have a fab NYE! I'll talk to you all in the new year. x
