FRENCHIES & FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD PREMIERE
I discovered Bonne Chance Collections on instagram recently and instantly fell in love with their dresses. Made with fabrics in all manner of cute and kitschy prints, adorned with collars and bows, their Lolita-esque designs are a dream. In fact, I almost feel selfishly reluctant to share their site as their limited designs already sell out in the blink of an eye but at the same time I feel like more people should know about them as they are so amazing! One of the dresses I managed to get my hands on was this cap sleeved, collared beauty, complete with tiny french bulldogs (eeeep) printed on it. I wore it along with my favourite chunky sandals and cropped cardigan to the London premiere of Far From The Madding Crowd. The lead actors, Carey Mulligan and Matthias Schoenaerts (who has quickly become my new celeb crush) were in attendance, walking the red carpet and meeting fans along the Southbank. Carey shone (quite literally) in an opulently sequinned Dior gown, complimented by grey Louboutins and an elegantly disheveled bun. I've met Carey a couple of times and just think she's the biggest sweetheart. Matthias was equally lovely, I was keen to give him the sketch that I'd done of him and when he saw it he exclaimed, "You're the girl from instagram!" So he'd been stalking my instagram ay... no biggie.
Also can we talk about how good the movie is? I've always been a sucker for period dramas and ones that feature a strong female lead character usually automatically end up in my list of all time favourite films. I've not read the particular Thomas Hardy novel it was based on but that didn't stop me from falling in love with the story and the characters. Not to mention the gorgeous cinematography and stunning locations. All I know now is that I really strive to embody Bathsheba Everdene's many inspiring qualities. I wouldn't mind having a real life Gabriel Oak by my side either... where do I sign up for one?
Have you seen or will you be seeing Far From The Madding Crowd?
I'd highly recommend it!
