PEOPLE & PLACES IN 2014

It's officially 2015! Hope you all had a smashing New Year's Eve and aren't feeling the aftermath of it too much! It's safe to say that 2014 has been one of the best years of my life so far. Of course it had it's lows as well, in fact one of the most difficult things I've ever faced and am still coping with was the passing of one of my best friends, but I've learnt that however unpredictable life can be, every experience really does have a positive impact and the 'not so good' ones have made me stronger in more ways than I could have imagined. It's now rounding up on my second year of living in London, having moved from Australia where I'd previously lived all my life. I've met so many people who have made such an impact on me and I've managed to maintain all the wonderful relationships I've cherished in Australia. Hands down the biggest highlight of the year for me was getting acquainted with one of my long-time idols, Sophie Turner. Being a huge Game of Thrones fan and especially of Sansa Stark, it was such a special thing to bond over our shared understanding and love for the character. She's one of the loveliest, most down-to-earth girls I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and the fact that she follows me on twitter and we just casually message each other now still feels totally surreal to me. My Yorkshire terrier Fischer turned a year old (and consequently can no longer be called a puppy, my vet broke the sad news to me), he's been such a joy to look after and become the best companion a girl could ever ask for. My own parents often tell me that I'm like an overprotective mum around him and that it means I shouldn't be hypocritical and complain to them for hassling me from time to time haha. Apparently that just means that they love me. Best parents award goes to them for the 22nd year running. To all the new friends I've made this year, be it through blogging, uni, or other means, each of you have inspired me in so many different ways and have made my life in London so much more colourful. To all my oldest friends, thank you sticking with me, I know long distance friendships aren't the easiest thing to manage but your continued support is what drives me. You are the most important part of my life and I love you all so much. Now is it my turn to visit Australia, or yours to holiday in London? That's always the question isn't it?

Just being in London has made me the happiest, it's always been my dream city (basically the reason behind my blog name, if you hadn't figured) so living here has truly been a dream come true. I love everything about it - the culture, the arts and history, the fact that it's so easy and convenient to get around and that you can be amongst the hustle and bustle one minute and in a quiet, quaint area the next. That being said, I did make it a goal to travel out of the city this year and so far I've visited cities and towns such as Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick, Shirburn, Cheltenham, and tomorrow I am going to York! My anglophile wanderlust is definitely setting in and it's made for some absolutely magical journeys so far! Here's to another year of exploring.

Last but not least, thank you my readers, for taking the time to visit this blog. It truly means the world to me that you'd be at least a little bit interested in what I have to share and I hope we can continue this journey together in 2015. All the best!
