Happy New Year lovelies! As a new year is once again upon us, it's left me wondering, as usual, where on earth the time has flown? I did one of these posts last year where I pick a favourite outfit I wore from each month and I thought I'd do it again for 2015 because it's really fun to look back on my choices, see what trends may have influenced me and if my style has changed or evolved!
One of my first outfits of the year saw me trial over-the-knee boots. I finally found a pair that fit my massive calves in the form of these ASOS Kaching boots. Since then I have fallen deeply in love with them and you may have noticed them feature in numerous outfit posts this year. The rest of the outfit is kept simple with grey, burgundy, and of course a House Stark scarf.
It was seriously hard to pick from my LFW outfits this month seeing as I loved them all so much but I'm gonna go with the one I wore on the first day. It's a typical vintage dress and boots combo for me but I loved the combination of green and orange, it was something I'd never really worn together before and I braved matching orange lips too.
I wore this Black Milk Iron Throne dress to the Game of Thrones exhibition when it was in London, layering it over a Dangerfield knit I'd brought over from Australia and my trusty dusty creepers as I knew I'd be on my feet all day.
Classifying myself as an 'angry GoT fan' after that episode aired, I voiced my opinions and the next day wore a lemon print co-ord in support of my favourite character, Sansa Stark. I finished off the look with some milkmaid braids and these Stella McCartney-ish platforms.
Dressed up as a princess for the day for this ASOS collaboration. Plenty of swirling is involved when you have a tulle skirt on and the little heels have now become a firm favourite in my shoe collection.
Technically a cosplay not an outfit (or is it? I wouldn't mind wearing this out day to day aha), but my first ever attempt at cosplaying was super successful to say the least. Becoming my favourite character for the Comic Con weekend and on top of that getting Sophie Turner's approval made it ever so special.
Looking at this outfit makes me miss summer and I ain't even a summer type of gal... this & Other Stories dress is one of my favourite pieces of clothing ever though, I love the print and the way it fits, doubt I'll find anything quite like it ever again so I'll be holding on to this one for many more summers to come. Also I bumped into Zoe Sugg aka Zoella that day and she said she loved my dress so it's probably a good'un indeed.
Rekindling my love for the handkerchief hem, I think the last time I wore a skirt like this was when I was in primary school haha. I really like how this outfit came together, I think I'll probably attempt to recreate it next summer again.
This vintage jumper is one of my favourite finds ever, the embroidery is just gorgeous and I love how the colours pop against the black knit. I paired it with my first (but definitely not last) suede skirt purchase from ASOS and some tried and true burgundy accessories from my closet.
Why is it that when I put on rainbow items of clothing I seem to automatically pull my hair into plaits? Must be a subconscious thing to do with the playfulness of it all but I swear it's a coincidence. I'm obsessed with these Radio Star boots from ASOS, they're the perfect shade of cobalt blue.
I bought this dress earlier in the year when I was on holiday in Singapore and it was sweltering out but I just knew instantly when I laid eyes on it, that it would be my staple dress fro the winter. And I was right. I think this is also the first time I wore my Alexander Wang boots out and they've now become my most worn boot because they're just so comfy and go with absolutely everything.
So that was my 2015 outfits retrospective, let me know which one was your favourite. Bring on 2016!
