I rarely do all-black but for an IAMX show (which is where I wore this ensemble to), I don't think it could be any more fitting. I was actually planning to skip the H&M x Balmain collection frenzy as I had a class on during the morning of the release but then some friends of mine back in Indonesia were planning on braving the queues and they kindly picked up a few items for me, including this burn-out velvet top that I had my eye on. I knew I adored the high neck style but wasn't initially sure if the power shoulders would suit me as I have quite broad shoulders to begin with. I gave it a go though and I don't think it looks all too odd on me! I wore it with a Primark faux leather skirt that I've had for absolute yonks and is one of my absolute wardrobe staples, then added an ASOS belt with gold hardware to match the zip detail on the H&M top. To round it all off, my boots of choice were my trusty ASOS over-the-knees, and I wore my hair pin straight with a statement dark purple lip to maximise the badass-ness (or so I like to think).
I know it's been a while now but what did you think of the Balmain x H&M collection? I personally thought it wouldn't have sold half as well if the Kardashians hadn't modelled it and I'm kinda over the hype and craziness of H&M designer collections.
