Today's blog post is a super fun one as I've roped in one of my best friends for Boohoo's Who's Your +1 campaign. We're coming up to that time of the year where a load of parties and special occasions seem to be cropping up and I know a lot of you gals will agree with me when I say that dressing up for one is pretty much half the fun and excitement in itself and what's even better is sharing that moment with your plus one.
I'm sure a lot of you already recognise my friend from my social media but if not, this is Winkey. I count her as one of my closest friends and she's always a joy to be around as she's always happy and positive. Winkey and I have very different fashion styles which does make it quite interesting when we go shopping or plan outfits together. That being said I think this also means that we constantly inspire each other to step out of our comfort zones and be creative. Speaking of comfort, this is Winkey's number one priority when dressing for a night out. She much prefers a shift style or A-line dress that flows and isn't too restrictive to take her easily from dancing to a meal. An LBD is not usually her style as she says bright colours reflect her bold personality. Despite this, she takes more of a minimalist approach to dressing so keeps an array of necklaces to add pizzazz when needed.
As you're probably familiar with, my style is a little more eclectic and very often vintage inspired. My go-to party look would usually be an embellished skater dress or a backless jumpsuit, and most importantly something that cinches in at the waist and skims over my hips as I've found this to be most flattering for my body shape. From Boohoo, I've chosen this intricate lace dolly dress that honestly looks like something Self Portrait would do and so much more expensive than it actually is. It also comes in black but I do love the contrasting details to the white one. I thought I'd try something a little different for me footwear wise and give the socks and sandals combo a whirl with these Gucci inspired metallic heels and frilled socks. Did I pull this trend off?
What do you think of our looks and have you recently found a party season favourite? I'd love to know about it. I'd definitely recommend browsing Boohoo's eveningwear selection, both Winkey and I absolutely adore our outfits and are still beaming at the excellent price points.
