Hyper Japan is a bi-annual expo in London that celebrates Japanese culture and anime so I thought it would be the perfect event to debut my Sophie Hatter cosplay. As a regular Comic Con go-er, I only attended Hyper Japan for the first time last year to tag along with a friend and while I loved the entire experience, one moment that unfortunately stood out to me was the bone-chilling, pneumonia-inducing hour spent lining up outside to get into the venue at Tobacco Dock, where the winds were particularly strong over the water and it was the middle of winter. Somehow I had this unforgettable incident in mind when I was planning my next cosplay and as it struck me that I'd love to do something from one of my favourite Miyazaki films': Howl's Moving Castle, it also dawned on me how convenient wearing a long sleeved dress would be if I had to queue at that godforsaken place again. Yeah so that was the reason behind my cosplay choice really, haha. Glamorous.

What's your favourite Studio Ghibli film? I've seen all of them now but mine's forever a toss up between Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away.
