H&M top (similar) / Archive by Alexa trousers (similar) / Office boots / ASOS belt / ASOS clutch

I don't know whether it's apparent that it was the windiest day ever when I took these photos but I really wanted to capture this outfit before I headed out regardless of the faces I pulled or the crazy windswept hair because I'd been longing to try pairing red and navy together for ages and I absolutely loved this look. I remember first seeing them in an outfit worn by blogger Jessica Stein that she posted on her instagram and my initial reaction was: I would never have thought to put those two colours together but whoa, they work so incredibly well? Since that moment I've been dreaming about this combo, but on the other hand I'd also been avoiding navy since it clashed with my then teal hair. Now my locks are a bit more neutral (well as neutral as a fantasy shade can get), I'm milking the shade in my wardrobe just in case I change my hair colour again.
Navy & burgundy together, yay or nay?

Sorry this video is super late but since it's still January, I thought I might just get away with it. Anyway, I did a twitter poll the other week (my first one and it was fun) and over 60% of you said you still wanted to see a 'What I Got For Christmas' video and I'd really wanted to do one since Christmas but hadn't found the time to. So without further ado, here's what I got for Christmas 2016!

What was your favourite thing you got or gave for Christmas?

& Other Stories tunic / Alexander Wang boots

A knit dress has got to be my ultimate staple for winter and I recently picked up this one from & Other Stories because a) it has flared sleeves, immediate yes, I'm still obsessed with them b) it has an adjustable tie waist to give it more shape and c) it's monochrome ie it will go with any hair colour I decide to rock. Bonus points for that zig zag hem as well, I don't own anything quite like it.

What's your staple item of clothing for winter?

Zara bomber (similar here & here ) / ASOS body / Zara skirt (similar here & here) / ASOS choker / Alexander Wang boots

I never thought in a million years that a bomber jacket, let alone one so loud with its prints and embellishments, would become my go-to item of outerwear. Blame it on Gucci, blame it on Jared Leto. When I first considered trying out an embroidered bomber, I picked this Zara one based on its colours. I thought the cool mauve tones would go well with my current hair colour plus look good with blue denim and most of my predominantly pink wardrobe (at the time of typing this) so I could have the option to style it up in either a sporty or feminine way. I am pleased to say that my prediction was right and I have definitely gotten the cost per wear down for this jacket (another genius thing is that it's actually reversible with just plain colours on the inside, so you're really getting two jackets for one). In fact, I have worn it so much that I've been considering purchasing another embroidered bomber? There are so many floating around the high street that are tempting me, particularly this ASOS number.

What are your thoughts on the embroidered bomber jacket? Love it or leave it?

Today's look is an homage to my geekier side because truth be told, 95% off the time you'll most likely find me lounging around in Star Wars or Suicide Squad merch. I think that's one thing that doesn't translate as well solely from my blog (more so if you follow my other social media channels though): how much of a pop culture nerd I actually am. Though I have started sharing my cosplay work on here as well as posts on events such as screenings, Comic Cons, and premieres. Ever since I was a little girl I've loved losing myself in fictional stories whether it came in the form of books or film and since moving to London I've found yet another outlet: theatre. I admittedly get way too attached to fictional characters and spend a lot of time daydreaming of other fantasy worlds. It's a side of me that I can easily switch off though, and a side that only close friends get to see in real life. Maybe I've developed two different personas, or a public vs private one but I'm sure many of you can relate to this in a way.

I feel like this is something that sets me apart in an ocean of 'fashion bloggers' though and I guess what I'm trying to get at is, sometimes I feel out of place in this blogging industry for being so passionate about these nerdier things when in reality it's probably something to embrace. Through all the networking that we do as bloggers, it's something quite special when you find someone who shares the same interests as you, that connection is immediately ten times stronger than usual. On the other hand, I don't feel like I 100% belong on the other side either. I'd most definitely lose to any Star Wars fan in a game of trivia and whilst I enjoy listening to my friends gush about different celebrities, I could count on my fingers the ones I'd personally fangirl over. Furthermore, most of the geekier gang I've encountered perhaps won't understand my style or the 'latest trends' and it makes me wonder whether they feel intimidated by that.

So I guess I've come to the conclusion that I don't fit into a certain typical mould and that's ok for everyone. Be who you want to be, do what you want to do, share what you love and accept what you may not. I'm Andini, a fashion blogger and a professional fangirl. This is what makes me, well me, and I can definitely multitask.

Another one of my looks from my Belfast trip that you might have spied from my vlog. I recently talked about how I've been slowly building up the confidence to wear bodycon dresses. Even though my waist has always been the smallest part of me, I'm terribly self conscious of my pear shape and how bottom heavy I think I appear. It's difficult when, even in the more recent insurgence of plus size visibility, the media mainly portrays women with a certain hourglass figure, bust-waist-hip-ratio instead of using this advancement to showcase diversity in all shapes and sizes. We are all beautiful and we can all wear whatever the hell we want. It's the most liberating feeling taking that first step out of my comfort zone of skater dresses and flared skirts, looking in the mirror and thinking, "What was I so afraid of? I actually look good!"

Since then I have been dabbling in bodycon pieces that I feel comfortable in and currently for me these are ones that are made of a slightly thicker material that will either suck me in or skim over my lumps and bumps. Knitted ones like this Primark number have been a firm favourite this winter as they're just so easy to throw on and style different ways.

I don't always feel 100% confident in bodycon yet but I'm slowly but surely getting there. As unfortunate as it is that society keeps trying to tell us what we can and can't wear, remember the simple truth is that there are no rules. So go ahead, show yourself some self love and wear whatever your heart desires.

I've gotten a few requests to do makeup tutorials so I thought I'd start off with this one which is my everyday look that I tend to wear during the winter time because of the cooler tones involved. Let me know if you'd like to see more makeup videos and which looks I should recreate next!

Zara jacket (borrowed from a friend, similar here) / ASOS body / Topshop jeans (old but similar) / Acne shoes / Regal Rose choker (similar)

Happy New Year lovelies! A new year is a good time to try out new things and believe it or not, I'd never attempted double denim before. To be honest I was planning on wearing this outfit with a regular leather jacket so I can't say I had the mindset but somewhere along the way I think I was inspired by a look Bella Hadid wore and my friend happened to have this denim jacket with her so I borrowed it for a day.

What do you think? Are you a fan of double denim?
