OUTFIT | FLORAL FIXATION

Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating when I purchase an item of clothing like this, very vintage style and inspired yet not actually vintage. You could probably find an almost identical dress for cheaper at a charity shop, the annoying hipster voice in my head whispers, plus it's not as cool if everyone else has the exact same dress... It's true, there's something I find extremely gratifying about going thrifting, especially when you come home with a one-of-a-kind bargain you've fallen head over heels in love with. On the other hand, it can be exhausting. In all honestly, I don't always have the time to go trawling through racks and racks of unsorted second hand clothing in the likes of Brick Lane. So as someone who's always been into more retro fashion and a granny chic aesthetic (I even considered labelling myself as a vintage style blogger when I first started this blog but thought it would just end up pigeonholing me), if I pass something vintage inspired that catches my eye on the high street, I would definitely still consider purchasing it.

H&M dress (old but similar) / ASOS belt / Miu Miu flats / & Other Stories hat

Case in point: this H&M dress. It's actually rather shapeless when unbelted but there was something about it with it's high neck, long sleeves, and gorgeous purple floral print that appealed to me much in the way that vintage dresses usually do. I absolutely love grunging up pieces like these so black accessories with metal hardware were a given for this look.
