I was perusing Liv's blog one night and she'd just written a post on embracing wardrobe basics with an oh-so-chic ensemble featuring a trench coat. It suddenly dawned on me that I'd been moaning about my inability to dress weather appropriately these past few weeks, more specifically, constantly regretting my choice of outerwear (either lightweight parka, cardigan, or leather jacket on random rotation) due to the unpredictable temperature dips throughout the course of a day, when I had never owned a trench coat before. No wonder I was having this crisis, a trench would be the ideal spring jacket.

Okay, so I had come to the conclusion that I needed a trench in my life but now the question was: how do I style one? Bizarre isn't it, to feel thrown out of my sartorial comfort zone by something so simple as a trench? Something about a regular beige trench just felt too masculine and posh for me, like perhaps Burberry models could make them look off-duty chic but I was convinced I would just end up emulating Inspector Gadget. Cue walking past a Zara shop front one day and the pink obsessed person I've recently become, I was immediately sucked in my this baby pink trench. I think the feminine shade perfectly balances out the more masculine shape I was previously so unsure of, it's the perfect matrimony.
