New blog theme, who dis? Adventures of an Anglophile had been due for a refresh for a while now but I'd been putting it off as I'm quite possibly the biggest html noob of all time. Admittedly tweaking my theme by myself has resulted in more disasters than success stories. Thankfully there's Pipdig, whose awesome designs I'd been seeing on all my favourite blogs at the moment and I decided if I were to finally take the plunge, who better to make the change with? I'm super pleased with how this theme looks and fits in with Adventures of an Anglophile as a whole. The installation process was super easy too, they give you step by step instructions or the option to have one of their team install it for you. I'm pretty sure they'll work on custom blog theme too. I really couldn't recommend them more! With the first unveiling of the new blog look, comes one of my favourite outfits I wore recently, Several people have asked me why I've been wearing my shirt unbuttoned and I have had to explain that while it's been all the rage to wear tops in a dishevelled and deconstructed manner, this Zara shirt actually came like this. I'd really love to be able to just push all my old shirts off the shoulder like this but unfortunately no method has them staying down for long. I first saw this shirt on a blogger (unfortunately I can't remember who now) and immediately checked both the Zara store and online but it was sold out everywhere. Fortunately patience and refreshing their site every day paid off though as it came back in stock after a few weeks and I snapped one up. I can't sing this top enough praises. Upon trying it on I found it to be one of the most flattering pieces I've ever put on. Firstly, the shirt is darted throughout the body so it really skims closely over your figure and you don't get any excess material when you want to tuck it into jeans and such. Secondly, if you have broad shoulders and shy away from bardot necklines thinking that they will only accentuate them, somehow the angle of this shirt's neckline is super flattering and makes your shoulders and neck appear smaller and more elegant. I decided to accessorise with some complimentary emerald statement drop earrings and slicked my hair back as it was the only way I could wear my hair during the London heatwave. Also I'm ever so flattered by all the lovely comments protesting that I did not in fact resemble an egg when I debuted this 'do on the gram, so kind! I guess I'm just not used to wearing all my hair off my face. What do you guys think of this shirt trend? I really fell in love with this particular top but I don't think I'll be buying any further into it.
