These have go to be some of my favourite outfit shots in the history of my blog, taken on a family trip to Oxford back when it was a little warmer. I'd visited the city once before and immediately fell in love with the old English style of the buildings there. Since my dad is very much into architecture, the last time he and mum were in the UK, I thought I'd show them around the home of the oldest university in the world. The journey from London takes about an hour and a half by train so it's quite convenient to make a day trip. We set off early in the morning and though we had a relaxing day planned this time around, I also managed to squeeze in a lot of touristy activities in eight hours during the last visit (which you can read about here). This time around we started off at the Bodleian Library (you can only go inside with a guided tour but they have different types to cater to everyone's needs, the shortest one being 30 minutes only), before wandering around the city centre in search for some grub. Mum really enjoyed going into all the little stores, especially the bookshops and music shops as they're different to the ones in London. In the afternoon we walked around some more, looking at various parts of the University, through some of the parks, to reach the Blavatnik School of Government that my Dad particularly wanted to see with it's modern glass design. It was quite a hot summer's day so I wore this floaty dream dress from Alexa Chung's new line with a boater hat (which was only a tenner, can you believe?) to help shield my head from the heat. I would've loved to have paired this dress with a daintier shoe or wedges but unfortunately I'd just injured my foot and the physio advised me to wear trainers whilst it was healing. I quite liked how the dress + trainers combo ended up looking though and my ankle seriously thanked me by the end of the day!
